Black screen after game launch (R9 390X / CSGO)

Evening Guys,

Ive had this problem for months but if im honest im rarely gaming atm but its really starting to bug me as i tend to play few limited time so takes me a good 5 mins to fix.

Now ive only noticed the problem with CSGO it goes like this.

* Launch CSGO
* Screen Goes blank/black but doesn't lose signal/power down monitor works just black.
* it just hangs then i cant tab out or CTRL ALT DEL nothing happens

Now fixes restart PC or ive found that if i remove the power cable from the monitor and reinsert it csgo then appears but sometimes its doesn't respond so i have to close it and gamble with a relaunch, sometimes it works but it flicks and doesnt look right also cause graphical stutter in game.

When it stutters im not dropping any FPS.

This is only happening with CSGO although i dont play a lot of other titles. GTA5 and BF1 was fine.

Any advice

Looks like a driver or game issue, have you updated gpu drivers or even rolled them back ? Has this occured recently,when was it working fine ?

its been like this for 6months i think mate :/

ive hardly been gaming hence why ive only just done a post, Ive tried beta drivers and all up to date too still at it atm

OK i leaning towards a monitor issue now, tried planetcoaster and that just done the same you can hear the sound etc.

I ran CSGO in windowed mode and its working fine like that after a number if restarts baffled

Are you sure the game is trying to run in full screen mode, in an upsupported resolution? Does AMD have anything like Nvidia Experience that will try to optimise the game settings?

it does have that and ive disabled that last night to see if it fixed the problem but its not, like i say currently its running fine in windowed mode.

playing at 1440p resolution
