Black Screen after Windows Logo

So my grandad was benchmarking his GeForce 1030 GPU & AMD FX8320 build at 4K and it ran fine. So he decided he wanted to try it on 1080p too see if it performed better.

He then changed the resolution to 1080p and the screen went black. He then restarted and loaded fine until a black screen appeared again.

He then went into Windows via safe mode and uninstalled the GPU Driver and it worked perfectly fine until Windows installed the driver back and again a black screen appeared.

We both don’t know what to do from here as it’s like the GPU and the TV have fell out all of a sudden and was working perfectly fine before!

Any suggestions?

He restored Windows back via recovery and it seems to work now he is just updating Windows back to its original state via updates.

I am uncertain why this issue happened but seems to me as if it corrupted to Operating System? It is surely not down to the GPU failing either as it was perfectly fine before!

I'll keep you updated if anything else happens!
