Black screen and curser at login

As title, my girlfriends Win 10 laptop boots ok, (if slow but its old) but once she logs into an account (hers or mine apparently) she gets a black screen and (sometimes) a curser, but nothing else.

Short of a clean install any ideas?

Roll back of the last update worked. What's weird is it then installed the update again and it's fine.

Few things:
Gfx drivers or onboard gfx drivers
Disable lock screen
Bluetooth? Disable
WiFi? Disable

Try each of the above one by one.

I had the same issue as my mobo has inbuilt Bluetooth which was causing a halt on start up. Disable Bluetooth and the problem immediately went away.

I had this same problem.

Go to control panel, power options, and disable fastboot.

Will do that when I get home. I has it disabled on my desktop, but that has an SSD anyway. Might get get one.

If that doesnt work theres a few guides if ya google it, lots of people got the same problem after upgrading to 10, a fresh install of 10 rather than the upgrade gets rid of a lot of the problems though.
