Black screen crashing - Windows10

Hi guys.

I've had zero problems so far with my build from OC, but the last few weeks when I use my PC I sometimes get random black screen crashes. Display goes black, PC lights/fans still going. It sometimes happens when gaming, sometimes on booting up into Windows.

Recently installed new catalyst drivers but they were fine for a week or two before the crashing. So I don't think it's that..
I'm using an old (ish) monitor that 7yrs old so wondering if its possibly the cable or monitor itself?

Just wondering what else could cause this so I can stop it

Try looking at the event log in windows to see if it says anything only real thing to do really without lots of fiddling

I'd verify other outputs first, for example does music continue or sound effects in games? If so, you can properly narrow it down to videocard and display issues. You'll lose nothing by trying a rollback of your drivers, so I'd try that first.

Sorry for the late reply guys but i think it may be my gfx card? Its making a strange clicking noise when its running, im hoping maybe just the fans catching on something as i havent cleaned them out for awhile, but not sure why it would make that noise. loose wire maybe?
