Hi, Just started up my computer today and it just hangs on a black screen. Post beeps screen turns on no text, nothing. No idea what is going on. Help!

EDIT: Just started it up for the 5th time - It's now stuck on the gigabyte splash screen

Edit: Just looked at a familiar forum and they suggested it might be usb peripherals drawing to much power at post. It seemed legit as I got a black screen so I unplugged my mouse as a day ago it got drenched in water and survived so I assumed that was the cause. When I removed that I got onto the splash screen- Removed keyboard and Corsair Vengeance 2000 wireless transmitter and viola! Boots fine. Never had this problem before though sounds strange too. Does this mean I have to remove all usbs before booting?

Edit Edit: Everything but the keyboard worked - plugged it into a different usb port, next moment all usb peripherals shut off for about 5 seconds then turn on - now I get to log in and windows itself freezes e.g desktop, volume mixer, taskbar etc. Everything else e.g Steam and Skype work fine HELP!

Extra: looks as though its not frozen I just cannot interact with it - one of the programs that runs on startup loads but I cannot click on it and yet I can see it doing actions e.g connecting to the internet however I can interact with some other programs. I ran Task manager then all of a sudden everything starts work WTF!

Sounds like a peripheral is dodgy.

Boot with one item at a time plugged in, individually.

Then you can establish what is faulty and replace it.

At first I thought that and it may still be the case, however I can't understand as to why my programs freeze until I start task manager :S
