Black screen on new build

I just built a PC using the parts in my signature. When I push the on button, the PC starts, everything turns on but there's only a black screen on the TV, I can't get to the BIOS. My Logitech G510S connected to a USB port at back doesn't turn on either.

I saw the CPU LED is red and the BIOS is the one that shipped with the motherboard so I know it isn't the one that supports the Ive Bridge E CPU's. The CPU heatsink isn't getting warm either, its cold. I tried updating the BIOS using the Flashback method with a USB stick but that didn't work either. Would an old bios and new CPU really cause this problem? If not, what should I do?
Thanks

If the BIOS doesn't support the CPU then yes, it could cause the symptoms you've described. The solution is to either buy a cheap CPU that the motherboard supports and try flashing again (hoping you haven't bricked it with the first flash attempt) or buy a motherboard that you know supports the CPU.

Nope, I've had the motherboard for a good few months but I never used or even opened the box until a couple of days ago, so it'll have a older BIOS that doesn't support Ive Bridge E. I didn't think BIOS would matter but the CPU LED on the board is red when I push the start button.

Although I did try updating the BIOS through Flashback but my USB flash drive has 2 root folders so I'm not sure if the motherboard was accessing the correct root folder for the newer BIOS hence why it wouldn't update.

just put bios on a bare/blank usb stick formatted to fat32

if that doesn't work pull out the bios chip and order a pre flashed chip with latest bios on it off fleebay, plug it in an off you go

Can't you save the sticks contents to pc,format it and restore your files later?
It should still see the BIOS even with the folders on there

I can format the normal side of the memory stick but then there's another partition that has the Sandisk U3 system software on it where nothing can be written or deleted from it as it acts like a disc.

It's basically like 2 external drives are connected when I insert the USB into a PC. The U3 side takes priority as it's root folder always popups first.

I can on mine if I plug it in the Usb port to charge it,all modern phones should let you,if not then new memory stick

I use a iPhone so I can't use it as flash drive. I know I could use my iPod video as a FAT 32 drive but it'd take ages to find where it is in my room so its just best to buy a cheap USB flash drive without all this extra stuff on it that no one uses.
