Hey all, I hoping someon has some tips to solve this.

I am upgrading a pc from W7 64bit Home to Win10 Home 64 bit.

Core i3 4130, Asus H81I-Plus, AMD 7700, 8gb RAM, Crucial 256GB SSD

During the win10 install the system went to a black screen with NO cursor
or prompt of any type.

It stayed there so I assumed the system may have defaulted back to the onboard graphics.

I shut down the system removed the 7700 card connected via hdmi to the onboard graphics. Powered up.
Windows restored back to win 7 at which point I uninstalled the 7700 drivers.

I also updated the onboard audio drivers to the latest version.

I then downloaded the win10 upgrade again and tried the process over again.

Unfortunately the exact same thing happened, during the Win 10 install the system went to a black screen and has stayed there ever since.
I have tried connecting to both the onboard hdmi and D-sub but it doesn't make any difference.

Has anyone else encounted this and how did you overcome it?. Do you think it would happen if I did a clean install?

I would appreciate any tips anyone may have.

Many thanks

had the same problem , win 10 upgrade wouldn't install, kept reverting back to 7.
I suspect driver update problem, I had amd 270x.
Clean install and format of win 7, activate (I didnt bother with updates), then ran win 10 update, worked fine.

I managed to upgrade successfully by doing the following

Upgrade Intel graphics to latest version
Upgrade MB Bios to latest version
Upgrade Avast AV to latest version

Not exactly sure which of these did the trick but think it was the
intel graphics driver. The upgrade went through fine after updating
these, thought I'd share incase anyone else encounters this.
