black screen problem

I got my gfx card from RMA and it seems that it doesnt work on my mobo, but it works on my friends. We both use PCI-E graphic cards, but when I insert the asus 6600 gt to my mobo and boot, pc speaker beeps 1 long and 3 short which means the gfx card is not fully functional or something. Im waiting for my friend to drop by so I can try his old Ati 850xt, but what could be the reason my RMAd gfx card works on my friend but not on my mobo ?

Lack of power, bad BIOS, bad slot (inc. dust in slot). Probably more. Can't really diagnose without trying a different card in the same motherboard.

I had the mobo sent to RMA and they said it was working properly so I suppose I should check out my PSU next.

Im talking to myself here BUT, just one more question
How is this possible:
My Asus 6600GT doesnt work on my pc but works on my friends pc and my friend's Asus 7900 GS TOP works on mine and his pc ?
