Black screen when stress testing

I wanted to overclock my system, and haven't had an issue like this in the past, but when i use IBT on max or Realbench i get a black screen now and then. I have also had a few blue screens from this also which were:

-KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
-PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I have tried different nvidia drivers to try and resolve the issue, but to no luck.

When i run the same tests in safe mode I get no black screens weirdly.

Does anyone have any solution.

Also i get these black screens only when stress testing, and not any other activity. Black screens happen with or without overclocks as well.

look in event viewer for nvidia display driver recovered or something. if cpu and mem are at stock, is the gpu at stock too? ive had the black screen during games with my gpu overclocked too far, but i also found that the gpu throttling to low power 2d clocks made it happen even more. if you select prefer maximum performance in nvidia control panel global settings it will only drop to its non-boost clock and be more stable.

Thanks for the reply!

Last night when i was testing it i saw one display driver recovered message within the event viewer.

Nothing is overclocked right now on the system. The only issue with running maximum performance is that when using non 3D rendered applications the gpu will still be running maxed out right?

Its just weird that the black screens or blue screens dont happen when running the stress tests within safe mode. Could this be as the nvidia driver isnt being loaded?

Just installed a older driver and no result from that. I actually got a new blue screen:

"DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL"

Really unsure of the cause of this. Using IBT causes this after about a minute of it running.

no it will be idle with no load and run at its non-boost clock speed, like 1200mhz and boost up normally to 1400 or whatever during a 3d app.
correct its not using the driver in safe mode.

i wonder if it could be a memory problem  are the memory timings set correctly ?

i would try prime95 to test the memory and cpu's stability.

for memory run a custom torture test with settings 4096k min 4096k max, mem 6000(if 8gb) 14000 if 16gb e.t.c. 24hrs = pass

for cpu run the small ftt test. 24hrs = pass

Ah ok thats fine then :)

The memory timings havent been set everything is at stock currently to try and remove these black screens.

An i have just removed and reinstalled nvidia driver. I will run the tests as you mentioned as well though to see if it passes. I have ran memtest before and found no issues. Will report back!
