Black Screen woes

Just upgraded myself a new PC with all the bits coming from OCUK

and am having serious issues with the graphics
kit is as follows
400 watt corsair PSU 18 months old but never been used been sat here in the box since I bought it

8gb Samsung green memory
MSI Z77 GD-80 Mobo
samsung 830 256gb SSD drive
1tb samsung 7200rpm hard drive
24" NEC Monitor
Blu Ray rom/writer
cpu ivy 3570k

I want to use the onboard graphics on the Intel cpu HD4000

but I get nothing but head aches runs for about 1 hour then the screen goes black yet the PC is still running with everything working but I can see nothing

I press reset or power it down then restart and all I get is no signal
this build is about a week old and I am totally pigged off with it now
sometimes after about a dozen restarts it comes back to life then yesterday it went off altogether and totally refuses to come back on

no signal is all I get cannot see the bios or anything totally nothing

this morning I put a £20 graphic card in as a last resort to see if I could see anything at all

hey presto it came back to life
after about half an hour the graphics were like 'shearing' or tearing the image apart which caused it to lock up and yet another restart

it started fine and has now lasted about 7 hours with no black screens and no more lockups

but I bought this board so I dont have to use a GPU Card

I dont play games but do a lot of photoshop so after reading about the onboard HD4000 it sounded like just what I wanted

I am at a loss as to what the problem could be throwing a ton of money and getting nowhere fast

the current situation obviously cannot continue like this

I have formatted the boot drive twice run memtest

I actually think the board does not like the samsung memory which every one seems top rave about (I might be totally wrong)

the board might be a duffer

I would appreciate any advice regarding MSI Z77 boards and any incompatibly that might be known

as it stands the on board HD4000 does not run for more than 2 hours max before the screen goes blank and refuses to detect a signal

I thought about the psu not being big enough so I installed my daughters 600wtt OCZ in it and it still wont play ball

at this stage I have no hair left to pull out !!!!! its all gone
Help Please
Chris

adding to the above
I was using a a VGA Lead when all the problems started so I switched to HDMI and it makes no difference

after a lot of head scratching I am of the opinion that the HD4000 on this board has major problems

Welcome to the club! See http://communities.intel.com/community/tech/graphics. Intel has still not come up with a solution.

In my case, win7 on asrock h67-ge ran blissfully for several months before black screen started to appear in last 2 months or so. In contrast to you, screen goes blank, but after several secs screen will reappear again. This happens several times, then whole problem goes away after half an hour or more! Only happens in windows. No lockups.

I have no idea what caused the problem. I tried latest drivers from asrock, intel and even windows update. Uninstalled vga driver and reinstalled original oem driver. Switched from dvi to vga cable. Reseated all connections on the mb. All to no avail.

I'm at the stage where i'm thinking of getting a graphics card. It's funny, whole thing makes me miss bsod, at least it gives you an error code to look up. Definitely has put me off built-in graphics for sure, especially this pos from intel. Lack of performance is one thing, but lack of picture:mad:

Sorry I can't be of any help. I was going to suggest testing in safe mode, but you mentioned you can't even see bios screen. That could point to hardware problem.

I bought a graphic card and it worked for a couple of hours then started doing the same black screen garbage along with green streaking lines across the screen in the times it was on

after days on end of head scratching MSI released a new bios from the original and I removed the cheap graphic card and removed all trace of the drivers from it and it now works as it should have done in the first place without 10 days of problems and costing more money buying graphic cards I did not need or want to waste more money on
