Hi.
What sort of system would i need to play B&W2 at 1280x1024@max?

I currently have this spec:
A64 3000
X800XL
2Gb Ram.

The demo chugs along 'reasonably' well, but its obvious that there are framerate problems.
What would i need to upgrade to get the performance i want? The video card i take it? What card would you lot recommend that'd do the res/detail i want, while being as cheap as possible?

Thanks in advance all.

I run at 1280@max with my system and the fps is low 30-70 mainly 35 ish. However I dont notice it too much in this game as its playable at that. Before I upgraded I had a 7800 GT 256 and one gig of memory and that couldnt run the game at 1280@max. It would pause for long periods ever so often, especialy when i zoomed right out. I think the extra system memory helped. My system spec in sig btw

As for a card I would get a high end 512 Mb card. Maybe a x1800xt, x1900xt or 7900 GTX,

x2 4400, 2gb ram, 7800gt 256mb here, ran maxed out with a good frame rate all the way through (well until the stability of the game made it impossible for me to complete  )

The ram is the most important thing for this title.

I looked at some reviews, anything short of a 7600 GT is going to struggle with it. 7600 GT is doing 30 fps at 1024x800 with no AA or AF. Like I said before tho a low frame rate aint too bad in this game. Performace seems to get resonable at 7900GT/x1800xt area. With the top end cards (7900GTX/x1900xt) doing 50 fps at 1024x800 dropping to 30 at 1600 with AA max. Hope this helps

Im still waiting for my new PSU and CPU for my new pc but i run B&W2 in 1280X1024 with full settings on and didnt have any slowdown.
My pc spec atm is:

2gb Pc3200 ram (X2 1gb sticks in duel channel mode)
X2 300gb Sata drives (16mb cache) in raid0
Athlon xp3000 clocked to 2020Mhz
X1900XTX

My old system used to struggle a lot with B&W 2 even with options only set to half. The spec on that was:

Athlon Xp3000 clocked to 2020Mhz (the same one that is in this PC atm :) )
3gb pc3200 ram
Ide 60gb drive.
Geforce 6600GT (slightly overclocked)

My old system also couldnt render a lot of the textures (the the good and evil dude) so had gaps in the models.

My PSU should be here today so will have crossfire setup with 1900XTX's and my Athlon X2 4800 should be here tomorrow. Cant wait to see what it is like then :)

no havent done yet (had some problems with this pc due to not having a psu that can power it properly) so only installed it to test stability more then anything. Will have a test with fraps later and see what my FPS is with this setup and then what it is like with the crossfire.

what sort of boost in framerates would i see upgrading from a 1GB pair of pc3200 ram sticks to 2gb pair of pc 4000 ram sticks? ( while using a 7800gt).

Im not sure if you would see an increase in fps but at times the games needs more that 1 gig of system memory (when you zoom right out or move round the map fast). 2 Gig stops this from happening. On my 7800 GT I could run it at 1024@max with resonable fps.

would just like to point out that this isn't a First Person Shooter, at 30 or 40 frames per second... the game will look wonderfully smooth, simply because your not running around like a headless chicken all the time.
