is there an app or is there a way to know how much of your data allowance you have used up?

You should have an unlimited data plan with Blackberry as standard, regardless of your network. :) The networks don't impose limits.

Yeah that's what i thought until i got my bill in today and it had 500MB next to the BSI option. I called to ask them what that was about and they said "its your limit on your internet"
I told them i had unlimited internet and they informed me that, yes, that was true but it has a 500mb limit which will cost you £1 per day per 25mb you go over.

why is it that cellular companies get away with false advertising and misrepresentation..

Wow thats pretty dire although on my HTC Magic with voda i only get 500mb as well but i tend to use the WIFI on that.
Whereas with my Bold i get 1gb allowance with tmobile...cant see myself going over that as most stuff i download is around 1mb or less ie apps and browsing is usually kbs.

I suppose they can get away with it because in their eyes unlimited means you can access the internet whenever you like and whatever time you like. Bit stupid if you ask me...should be classed as unlimited when its quite clear that its not in the strictest sense of the word.
