We have a new server who are a couple of the people in our company are on. The problem is that BES is not seeing/syncing with the new server. Their display name is shown in the manage users list but they do not have a PIN, Policy or any other info.

Where about in BES 5 do you configure/add email servers? On servers and components > server view I can just see one thing 'SLDSBES01' the following things are then shown inside it

BAS
SLDSBES01
SLDSBES01_POLC
SLDSBES01_SYNC
SLDSBES01_ALRT
SLDSBES01_LOG_1
SLDSBES01_CTR_1
SLDSBES01_EMAIL
SLDSBES01_BBIM_1
SLDSBES01_AS_12
SLDSBES01_AC_MDS-CS_13
SLDSBES01_AC_EMAIL_14
MDSS1(-our company name-)
SLDSBES01_MDS-CS_1

What is the layout of your exchange organization? Does the BES server still sync with other mailbox servers in the same exchange organization as this new server?

is the BESadmin account an Exchange Admin (I know I forgot to add the BES account view only rights on the new 2007 server which stopped it working)

BESadmin is a member of

admins
domain users
enterprise admins
exchange domain servers
exchange services
SLDSBES01 administrators

Sorry, im not sure what you mean here. What info do you want?

Yes, BES still syncs with all other mailbox servers. We have just added a new exchange server and BES will not sync with this new one for some reason. Both exchange accounts are members of the same groups in active directory

Both servers are on standard edition, version 6.5 build 7638.2 service pack 2

If you have assigned the same rights over the new server as the old server for the BES account then i'm not sure, were still on v4 -yes I know it's not meant to support 2k7 :) but I can't see it being that different, I have only ever needed to worry about giving the BES account permission over exchange - never had to add an exchange server to the bes.

I would have thought the same - That BES should automatically find any servers without the need of adding it. Then again I wasnt the one to setup our BES or exchange, I just know bits about managing users, policies etc. Not much about the server components, services, security and how BES is actually linked to an Exchange server

update, boss saw he had the setting for 'administer information store' not set on the new server. I dont know where to find this anyway? Thanks CraigN and everyone else
