BlackBerry PlayBook users?

I just Googled the place that has them for 210... they are a semi-scam site. By that I mean they ship small stuff with no issue, but larger expensive stuff thy claim no stock and take their sweet time issuin a refund only after a zillion mails. They did the same with the Galaxy Tab 7.7 after claiming to have it.

Bought a camera from there and had no hassle.

Price went up about 1 hour later.

To be honest the current prices are a "price cut" we look across the Pond at their pricing but forget that ours included VAT on top, where they have to add Sales Tax.

I certainly can't see the 16/32GB models getting any cheaper and I'd be surprised to see the 64GB much lower.

From what I've been reading on some of the tech sites I suspect the Playbook and Bold 9900 will be my last Blackberry products, rumours that they plan to appoint a new Chairperson; with the intent to sell or breakup the company.

It does look better than the Touchpad and if it can be rooted then it will be a nice bit of kit.

We use our iPAD for mainly web browsing and it crashes all the time. Anything that will give me a better browser experience is a definate plus for me.

Browsing on it now... superb. :)

Question to all owners

Is one of your volume buttons a tad non-clicky? My Volume down is sharp and clicky while my Volume up is non-clicky and feels a bit spongey. Works fine, just wondering if its a normal thing and worth swapping it for? All else is perfect.

No I'm just running the stock OS for now, downgraded from the OS 2.0 beta.
Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard work natively.

Why did you downgrade just out of interest? Was thinking of trying it myself.

Yeah I've got a spongy volume button too, seems to be some variation in them I think.

I'll likely update again but I've been having some issues with .Doc and XLS files as I'd done the initial OS 2.0 upgrade wrong so I've wiped the PB to start again, I've found that aside from Tapatalk I'm not missing the Android Apps all that much.

Im not sure it is so mixed... hardware amazing, software choice average, essential functions like browsing etc are excellent. Depends what you want from a tablet.

I'd recommened it and getting the os2 beta. I have android email, a few android games and bb games and various other android apps. I don't miss android too much fruit ninja and the native google talk app to make use of the cameras would be great and spotify but other wise excellent. It looks like xda are going to get a forum for it so can expect a lot of attention to it in the future. The multi tasking is the closest I have experienced to using my laptop or desktop tbh. Only thing android has over this is a better keyboard imo and the app ecosystem. Both should hopefuly be solved or improved in feburary
