I have a t-mobile blackberry with unlimited data as part of the plan.

Would it be possible to put this SIM into an unlocked iPhone - and what functionality would I lose?

thanks

A sim is a sim. Blackberry is just a service that is enabled. Without a blackberry client on the iphone you would lose the blackberry functions. Youd just get calls/texts and it would use gprs data.

I was thinking more along the lines of what iPhone features wouldn't be available with something other than a non-O2 iPhone SIM?

Well I had/have a blackberry curve. Addmitdely my contract with tmobile was setup with another phone but I did put the Blackberry plan on my account etc and it works fine with my Iphone. One thing I would advise is to put a Web n Walk package on your account if you don't have one otherwise you might get really high data usage to pay for.

EDIT: The only feature you won't get is the Visual Voicemail, all other features will work.

why pay for blackberry if you dont have it though, you are just giving RIM money... just get tmobile and web n walk - remove bberry.

So... if I'm going to get a Blackberry from T-Mobile (with Web and Walk). Do I still need to pay RIM a subscription to use a certain Blackberry feature. How much? Also which feature is this?

yeap you do, i believe they give you a discount on the wnw but all in all it comes to like 10pounds pm or something i'm not sure - although a quick look at their website shows that they seem to have added flext+blackberry plans (you lose the 25% off)... you need to pay to have instant email, blackberry msgr basically all the stuff that blackberry is used for...

Ahhh right I see. Hmmm they're 18 month contracts. I'll wait for them to get the curve back in stock and see what they can do...
