Hi All

Are there any 27" monitors out there that are capable of deep black levels? I'm surprised there aren't monitors out there with localized dimming what with most manufacturers moving to LED back lighting.

2560x1440 would be a bonus but I would settle for 1920x1080 if it was worth it.

Is there a type of panel in particular that excels in this area?

cPVA and modern LED AMVA panels offer some staggeringly low black levels and static contrast ratios of > 3000:1. would be best place to look :)

Ill look into those panels, thanks baddass!

I had been avoiding AMVA as I had a NEC 24wmgx3 a couple of years back and was unimpressed with the blacks levels and ghosting/input lag. That was a few years back and CCFL mind so it sounds like they've improved somewhat.

Not many monitors using cPVA is there?
