BlackICE questions

So i was happily using Zone Alarm untill i installed Avasti AV and discovered an infested machine So now im trying BlackICE, so far it seems pretty nice but being used to ZA's popup messages about progs trying to access the intarweb im a bit confused as to what it's doing and how it does it.
Are there any forums that help in all things BlackICE around as ive searched and cant seem to find any decent ones.

I've used a few Firewalls over the years ,Sygate ,Zone alarm and Blackice [I think it was version 3.6 or something like that ,but I had heard it had a backdoor into it , so I stop using it .I liked Sygate until my old anti-virus program found a keyloger in it ,so I ditched that too. I've used Zone alarm until the last week ,also good ,but maybe slowed the PC down just a tad. Just had a new PC build and opted to try some new things :Comodo seems very good [Firewall] updated my Window Washer to v5.5 , also excellent and Norton Anti-virus . Everything fine at the moment and all seems very fast.
