Hey all,

So tested my stock system and its all stable. 7 hours and its all sweet.

So now with my blackops, as i'm sure you know. Its looking at me, screaming to be overclocked :D

So this is only my 2nd build and I want to do this right.
I would love to hit 3.6GHz, but as long as my memory is running at its 1600MHz I dont mind 3.2GHz (400*8)
I have Prime95, OCCT and HW monitor.
I just increased the CPU to 2.5GHz and OCCT is doing a test for 1 hour

ANYWAY (sidetracked)

I was just wondering if you awesome people had any tips for overclocking in general? Or specific to my hardware.

Specs :
Q6600
Blackops x48
4GB OCZ intel Extreme 1600MHz
4850 xxx

It should be a pretty smooth overclock to get to 3.2, though you are prob best off to look at fiddling with all the voltages for that, not just VCore.

3.6, unless you are lucky, you should probably expect a more substantial voltage increase as you get past 3.2, so don't be scared as long as the temps are ok. Just don't go to anything silly.

Not overly sometimes it takes awhile of tweaking to get it where you want it specially depending on mother boards and power supplies i have mine at 3.6ghz and my ram at 1600 which makes a sexy 1:1 ratio.

Oooohhhh, would you be so kind to post your settings?

Just so i can get an idea of where i'm headed with it.

Thanks :)
