I have a bit of a weird shaped window in that it's within a sloping wall. I need to black it out but no go on traditional blinds.

I'm thinking of a strip of self adhesive Velcro all round the window and material cut to size.

Has anyone done this and is self adhesive Velcro likely to be man enough to hold it up?

Self adhesive Velcro on the frame and staple/stitch to the blackout material. We did this and it works very well.

As above, I've used self-adhesive velcro strips and home-made "blind" material to mimic shutters on the windows when the French family visit. Works a treat.

I did this on the bedroom windows of my old flat as there was a street light right outside.

Blackout liner with thin cords sewn at the top, velcro sewn to the liner and stuck to the window frame. Could roll the liner up and tie it up during the day, at night, just undid the cords, let the liner drop down, a gentle press against the velcro and it was perfectly dark, was great!!
