Inno3d accidentally announces in an interview that their RTX5090 GPUs will be ready to launch in 3 weeks.

To be clear this is not the release date and Inno3d clarified, the 5090 is being announced at CES with a launch after CES but what Inno3d says is their custom 5090 models will be in stock and ready for sale before Christmas and are just waiting for Nvidia to open the flood gates

At the end of the day names and tiers change. All I care about is whether price for performance improves over this gen or not.

The poor naming doesn't help, even though Nvidia could abuse it to their advantage (i.e. even doing the opposite of what they tried this time). But yes, the most important bit is price to performance and honestly, given we've had plenty of stagnation previously, rebrands, etc, and AMD's lack of competition at the high end, I don't think it's likely that we'll get much price-to-performance improvement. It'll probably be similar to the start of this gen where none of the new parts really beat the price to performance of the price reduced last gen parts. GPU market rn is looking like the CPUs back before Ryzen came along, 5%-10% better at the same price if we're lucky. Especially with Nvidia shovelling their nonsense about fancy DLSS-this and ray-tracing that, as excuses for less VRAM/raw performance.

At the very least I'm hoping for efficiency increases so I can get something cooler, less-power hungry at the same performance than what is available now. Surely that's not an unreasonable expectation.

Battlemage rumoured to be this month, RDNA4 rumoured next month and Blackwell rumoured over the next month or two. It should be an interesting time from top to bottom of the stack and hopefully there will be some solid price to performance increases.
