NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

Oh you get poverty level but still pay the same high prices
Just buy from the competition. Oh. There is none?

jeez-thats-too-bad-cable-company-worker.gif

i think the floodgates on leaked benchmarks will be opening soon - a mysterious new gpu delivers a sucker punch to the rtx 4090
just hope theres enough supply, been too much stress for a while.. miss the gtx 90 days

I find it perplexing Nvidia now seem to be completely separating their GPU stack. Elite tier £2000 plus (if lucky) and the rest of the poverty level stuff from the 5080 down. Oh you get poverty level but still pay the same high prices, but the “improvements” are all done in locked down software/hardware with AI.

Well done Nvidia, you won.

5090 ~50% + faster than a 4090 for £2000 - £2500

5080 ~4090 performance for £1200 but with exclusive 50x0 AI features it will be up to 20% faster (ooh better price/perf thanks Nvidia)

5070 marginally faster than a 4080 Super for £800. Again the high premium over the nearest AMD competitor is because exclusive 50x0 “features”.
The whole product line other than the 90 is now designed in a such a way that you don't really get a gen on gen upgrade unless you buy the next tier up in the stack.

Rtx5090 PCB, this is not reference model, it's for an AIB

512bit bus confirmed and 1x power connector

As you can see the chip is MASSIVE, along with 16 x 2GB memory and 40 phase VRM and the PCIE pin layout shows its PCIE 5

could it be that the rectangle at the center is the chip, the rest of it is packaging?
whats the estimated area, any guesses by the source?

I hope AMD do stay out of the high-end game.

But this wont make my default purchase cheaper!

oh, and the mandatory chef's kiss - 50 series exclusive features, 5090's got to be the greatest most exciting release since the previous generation

Fixed.

i think a 5080 could be a viable upgrade for anyone upgrading from the 4080, again i am basing that on leaked cuda count, depends on how much they cut it further

It looked like it had the fastest memory speed in the line-up based on the leaks, the price will be how its judged now.

Spend £2400 on a 4080+5080 and end up with 4090 performance, the only winner there is Nvidia.

Pointless buying an 80 every generation now, you'd be better off just buying the 90 every other generation.

The mainstream gets even more gimped. Yet everyone goes on about PT. The fact that the RTX4060/RTX4060TI outsold the rest of the Ada Lovelace stack by a huge amount shows you most gamers can't afford the upsell.

If the RTX5060TI isn't at least 12GB, RTX4070 performance and under £400 the mainstream will be a joke. Even the PS5 PRO is probably about RTX4070 performance.

Reddit users are estimating 744mm2, this would be larger than the 4090's 609mm2

Reddit users also noticed that in the leaked photos there is some serial numbers at the bottom right corner of the PCB and on one of the lines it says: "PNY 5090 V1.0"

The leaker kopitekimi today with the 5070 specs. Once again nvidia at it

Less cores than an RTX4070 Super but faster RAM.

The RTX4070TI and RX7900XT have sometimes dipped below £600 too.

Neural indoctrination...sorry rendering will save everyone. Expect the RTX4000 won't have it.

I still expect it to beat a 4080 but the cynic tells me the big selling point will be the locked down “must have” features.

Someone gets it, that’s exactly my point. Stop wasting resources and everyone else’s time deluding yourself AMD.
The best thing for everyone would be if AMD are competitive with Nvidia at the high end, no matter how long it takes them to get back on track. If you literally don't want that then you are the dark side of nerddom.

lol, I’m not getting at AMD, I’m getting at the so called “enthusiasts” who refused to consider AMD no matter what. AMD catering to that crowd is what was, and is delusional.

sound business logic there.. i would have done the same, ignored the mouthwateringly profitable market segment and then shutdown the shop eventually (thats where its going)
