NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

I'm certain it's gonna be a scramble again and then no stock for months, on both 5080 and 5090

Possible, but I don't think it's going to be quite as pronounced as before (certainly nothing like the 3xxx series).

Honestly, I'm not sure there is a going to be a great deal in it for scalpers this time around. Would be risky.

You are right, maybe not quite 4090 level, but it's not going to be too far off, based on their slides and the Far Cry 6 benchmark. Maybe more like the 4080 super though perhaps.

That slide shows maybe around 25-30% uplift without dlss. Which possibly puts it between the 4080 super and 4090 (but closer to the 4080 super).
I'm expecting slightly faster than a 4080 in raster.

Yeah the only saving grace is people downplaying the performance uplift

As someone who owns a 3070, I am potentially eyeing the 5070Ti considering there doesn't seem to be that much difference between that and the 5080. Also with the trend of the Supers I'll probably wait for a 5070Ti Super with hopefully more VRAM etc. Surprised at the pricing apart from the 5090, thought they'd be more expensive across the board in all honesty.

Interesting claims re: the neural rendering…

Textures can be compressed up to 7x saving massive amounts of graphics memory…

If it’s true that the 16gb is no longer the constraint that it was it might put the 5080 onto the table for me.

I wonder if this has to be manually implemented by game devs or if it just works everywhere automatically? If it's even half as much as a 7x reduction this would be game changing! I guess decompressing the textures must result in latency though.
