NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

5090 now makes the 5080 a budget tier card

If you want top end performance, top end bragging rights, top end frames then you need a 5090

5080 is half the card as a 5090

(my theory based on nvidia prices)

It's pretty crazy that we're now at the point where there's a thousand pound gap between the xx90 and the xx80.

I wonder if we'll see a 5080ti that sits nicely between the two at some point.

good point, they might so it minimises the £1000 gap, also I think there also a big gap in the shader units between the 5090 21700 to 5080 10700, and also the 5090 has double the amount of VRAM 16GB vs 32GB with the memory bus 256 bit vs 512 bits, 5080 is basically half the card.

Ive just realised... How is the 5090 looking so small compared with the 4090? The size looks like its the same as a 4070 or thereabouts yet it draws more power?!

These things might actually explode when put in PC's if they've underestimated the thermodynamic side of things

the gap between the 5090 and 5080 is so large that Im betting thats what Nvidia are thinking of doing. sadly the price point will be exactly inbetween at 1500 as well so

Will overclockers be stocking the AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 MASTER ICE 32G @Gibbo its nice to see a white card available at the start of a launch this time round

I have not read up all the specs yet. Is the gap between these cards greater than the 4080 - 4090? That was quite a significant difference which based on the launch pricing actually made the 4080 poor value.
