SX, unfortunately
I picked up one of these switches recently. Bit of a beast with 24x 10Gb ports

But being second hand, it looks like the previous owners didn't do a factory reset so connecting up to the Ethernet management port doesn't show up on my network :(

It has a USB serial management port to telnet in, but I can't find the specification for the cable needed. It's mini-USB to something. The IBM part number for the cable is 90Y9462 but my google-fu is failing for the spec of that :(

Can anyone help? The genuine cable is about £40 I'd rather not spend.

Ta :)

I'm pretty sure it's just mini-USB to Standard-A USB, at least Juniper console ports work this way

edit: you might need the specific drivers for that switch for the serial communications to work

edit2: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=isg3T7000299&aid=1

Doesn't specify in that documentation that you can use Mini-USB to A USB, just Mini-USB to serial which you can get pretty cheap, if you search for the part number it's just listed as serial cable so that would be easy to find on the bay or the forest.

Punt taken. Does seem strange - it's a blade product prior to IBM buying it, but from what I can tell the IBM ones are the same. Fortunately serial ports are on both servers so I can pop hyper terminal on and have a play.
