Blakes 7 Remake

Well, given that it is Syfy, I give it less than 5 episodes before they're juggling it around the schedule to make way for some more brain-dead reality trash that they seem to prefer these days, and from that article, it'll barely even BE Blakes 7.

I'm sure that they'll ruin it in every conceivable way.

This will most likely be crap. The original series was very dark, remember that Blake had been accused being a paedophile, but this will most likely be a sanitised version with good looking actors.

I'll give it a go but my expectations are so low it'll struggle not to be better than them.

It's going to be a hard job finding someone like Paul Darrow and Jacqueline Pearce. Those two practically made the show.

well considering the last few 70's-80's series remake they done have flopped or weren't given a chance to shine to name two bionic woman & knightrider. then throw in the fact that syfy (not scifi) are doing it doesn't stand too much of chance for success.

I'll give it a shot...

SyFy these days is a very different animal to what it was in its heyday, but still - this is the channel that brought us Battlestar Galactica. I'm fully expecting it to be a short lived, watered down version of the original - but still, I'll at least give it a chance.

don't get me wrong I will give it a chance but as I & other have mention syfy is slowly but surely moving away from scifi unless it imports the show, as they have kill a number of their show not because it failing rating because they did well in the rating but because it doesn't fit in with their other show (cough* face off, destaination truth, fact or fiction type shows).

IMHO the best Sci-Fi series of all time, Fantastic Characters, great stories. Loved the way is showed the future, much better than the squeaky clean Star Trek universe where every thing is polished and dust free.

Paul Darrow was excellent. Avon and Villa made the show. The distrust between them was great, but they both needed each other and both knew that.

The remake will be terrible.

Remaking classic shows rarely goes well. I don't expect this to be any different.

With the exception of BSG that would be my opinion as well, I won't be losing any sleep if I miss any of the new episodes.

I wonder if Intel & AMD will squabble over who gets to put one of their CPU's in ORAC? Either way ORAC wont work properly because he'll be running whatever version of Windows that's out in that time period. :p

I'm a massive fan of the original, I'm lucky enough to have watched it as it was originally broadcast! However, this 'remake' hasn't even been started filming yet and the naysayers are out in force! When will people learn to give something a chance.

I'm holding off my judgement until I've actually seen it!

I am looking forward to seeing what this is going to be like. Loved the original, especially as i had to sit though 'Ask the family' in order to watch it!
