There nothing to defend here. I would just point out that they are not some monolithic entity and attitudes and views differ radically from person to person and group to group. There is very little the binds these people together other than a rejection of multiculturalism.

Do you honestly believe that this protest was ever meant to be peaceful? From the interviews, Facebook posts and photos, their intentions look pretty clear. They set out to intimidate and provoke. They were delighted by the violence and by Trump's words afterwards.

No facts are being misrepresented at all, with or without a permit - they went there to preach the killing of blacks, armed to the teeth, to claim that people are misrepresenting the facts is being pretty obtuse.

Yes they were. It's completely untrue that a permit was granted for them to preach the killing of jews and blacks. That may be what happened on the rally. But the permit was not approved on that basis. If I could find the wording of the permit request I'd link to it but unfortunately my google fu is weak on that one. But I would be stunned if the permit was approved on the basis of what you claim. What you said was inacurate, regardless of what actually happened on the rally.

They got a permit for a peaceful protest about the removal of General Lees statue, what they actually organised was a 'unite the right' rally which then attracted hundreds of supporters from the extreme right who came all tooled up for violence and walked down the streets chanting hate speech - and yes, they did chant hate speech, I don't just think they did
