Why are you all bickering over personal beliefs - we all have one and the chances of arguing yours over anyone else's is fairly pointless. Some things I like, some things I don't - that's all there is to it. the country has changed over the years - some for the better and some not. I was one of 3 brown faces in my town school when I grew up. Oh I remember the grief I got but things are a different word now to back then

That's exactly what he's saying. It's the same attitude we're sick of seeing. "Anyone who voted against X is a [age/sex/fasc]ist or [Islamo/homo]phobe and should be ashamed".

These people just shut down the argument, that's their legitimate defense.

Funny how so many people either choose to ignore the once then immigrants that have settled down in their new way of life complaining about the new immigrants. Only according to so many it is only white people that complains about immigrants. The news channels do it as well but hey, trending is cool?

It is also funny watching discussions on forums these days if you could even call it that when really it is political point scoring.

Perhaps, but the thread title is literally as ambiguous as it can be, so we could talk about who likes marmite and it'd be relevant. We live in a world that doesnt care about the content of an article, but mostly it's title, so it's only right surely?

true but only facists/lefties (delete as appropriate) eat Marmite. I hate the stuff and therefore half of the population.
 
I'm just always amazed how the public fight each other where they should be turning on the press/media for the hatred and division they incite. Whether it is the UK or US.

News Journalists/organisations is the toxic sludge of society. I used to really despise politicians so much compared to the news but now I've found the news/journalists are in the #1 spot for being the worst. Not that I have any high regard for politicians. They're the pits as well.

The press really have done a nice number on people distorting their views and look where all the hatred comes from, all the media outlets. Imagine how different a place it would all be if the people united against the press/media but I guess that will never happen since it is only reporting the news. If one could even call it that nowadays rummaging through twitter to whip up the public so they can fill a 1 hour slot and get the ratings up for ad revenue.

I dislike the press just as much as a dislike the mindless people who soak it up like a sponge as if it be the word of a so called God.

Just goes to show the high water mark we have all been used to. It seems everyone everywhere is gunning for a fight / war if only to remind people how bad things can really get before we settle down again and appreciate what we do have

Can confirm. My grandmother, who came over from Jamaica in the 50's, (i think) isn't fond of the current immigrants. Or rather she isn't fond of immigrants coming over with no intention to work and to leech on the system.

Have to say I agree. Coming from an immigrant family I don't disagree with immigration however I think there needs to be something in place to stop people coming over just to bleed the system dry. I'm all for immigration if it's for people who are going to put into the system and intergrate with the culture.

Some groups don't want to integrate they want to subjugate.

Because they typically live in small isolated communities within the larger community. Thus they don't need to interact or be around those they dislike. It's why you frequently get entire estates or areas full of one nationality or race. Newcastle's West-end for example has a large Asian pocket. Gateshead has a large Jewish pocket.
