Blank box on desktop!

I have just started getting a little box on my desktop everytime i bring up a window, it only shows on the desktop and not on top of other windows.

This is my new laptop and it just started happening, Sorry if its something totally simple just god damn annoying!!

Any ideas guys?

Could be a random active desktop thing that was enabled accidentally, either that or spyware...

Have a look in Task Manager and see what tasks you have running. Hopefully something in there will give you a clue as to what it is.

Run some scans (virus, trojan, anti-spyware (try Ewido http://www.ewido.net/en/ as it might be a desktop hijacker and ewido is very good against hijackers.) Run the usual then delete what is found (change desktop background to something different.) Reboot> Reapply your Previous Background.
