ok, so i wanna burn a cd... i stick in a blank and a dialog comes up about opening the finder or itunes... i click cancel assuming the cd would just pop up in the finder sidebar and i could just drag files to it...

turns out cuz i pressed cancel, the cd gets stuck... and after a quick google this is a common thing!? - the eject button on the keyboard wouldn't work (then again it never has done anything for me...), the eject button on the menu bar and also in disk utility wouldn't work either. so i have to restart and hold the mouse/trackpad button to eject  - seems really irish to me that does...

i have since figured out that if i put the disk in and choose finder at the dialog box... THEN the disk gets properly mounted and shows up on the desktop and in the sidebar, whereas before just nothing happened...

anyone else think its crazy that if you cancel the dialog box, you're looking at a restart???

touch it long time

if it really is stuck and no matter what you do it wont come out come back and i will tell you how to fix it

The problem here is your a complete n00b ;)

The solution: Try ejecting the disc, and perhaps set the Finder to open the disc automagically in the system preferences (under cd/dvd)
