blank display

Hi All

I just upgraded to a sapphire r9 280, but on switch on I'm getting a blank screen.
I've updated my m/board bios to the lasted level ( gigabyte z87x d3h f9)
I have turn off the internal graphics, I'm using a 750w psu and have upgraded to
the latest drivers from the sapphire site.
the connection from card to monitor is dvi to dvi I have also tried hdmi to dvi cable.
when I refit my old card (6850) all is ok

any idea's would be most helpful

Are both PCI connectors firmly pushed in ?

yes all connections are fully in

It's a corsair 750w
