I've burnt some dvds which play pixelated on the tv, supports 720p resolution, or what ever the 768 resolution is.
Now on my computer they play fine, 1680x1050. I dont ask me what disc I used but I used Roxio Media Creator Classic 10 to burn.

Anybody got suggestions for if it should be - or + type and how to burn at maximum quality? Each file is about 720mb but seems to take up more space when on the disc.

Dvd format is a maximum of 720x576, not 720p. No way around that if your player can't play xvid or whatever format the videos are in. When videos are played on the tv they are inevitably going to look worse because of the size.

Sorry should make it clear that its for a dvd player that plugs into the tv, I also think its an LG one.
Just to be a best and make sure I know what Iam deffo doing can you do a step by step guide?

what model is the lg player have you tried a avi file in it,to use the converter just drag and drop it in the program put disc in drive and hit convert and it will do it all for you to set up covert x is straight forward and is newbie proof you cant go wrong with it lol

Dont know, it's currently up in the attic and its too much effort just now.

DVD drive in the computer is an opitarc (wasnt my choice) so the only software I have is the Roxio.
Looking for the best method to produce the best quality (eg no pixelisation) for watching on tv with the dvd player.

But i think we've currently confused each other about what we are talking about

edit: and the name and brand of dvd player i just watched it on is coming up in 2seconds. This is the one that played it pixelated.
edit2: dvd player just watched on panasonic sa-ht900

What he's saying is that if your dvd player plays divx/xvid you can just drag and drop the file onto the disk, and if your player doesn't support it, then you should use convertxtodvd to convert the file into dvd format using the highest quality settings, which will take some time. Personally I would just buy one of those wireless streamers then you don't have to mess around with dvds.

nah I wont have that at uni, or if I did it would be kept in my room as I would be stealing my brothers.

Cheers, I'll check the dvd player I would be taking with me.

An other noob question, does avi automatically mean dvx?...or how can i find out?

cheers guys. Will need to order discs and see whats all happening likes.

One more thing, whats the best method of taking wall e off dvd, i'm wanting it on my touch. Ive allready got conversion software for it.
