Hello

i have just installed my new hardware and tried to power on. The screen appears to be blank. The monitor works and recognises it has been plugged in but there is nothing to display it goes to sleep. What could be causing this?

I think it could be one of those problems. Which are likely:

1) The GPU. I plugged everything in so what could I check to see if it is that

2) The HDD maybe it isin't powering on? I don't get the BIOS beep

3) The DVD. Can a PC run with no problems without a DVD rom. I heard it can't but Im sure it would display something.

What else could it be. All of the hardware is bought from OC UK so it can be returned if faulty right?

Thanks

Are all power connectors connected including the 4 or 8 pin for cpu power.
Memory in the correct slots, some boards like the memory to be in certain slots before boot.

Try a CMOS reset.

Yup they are. Memory only fits 2 of the slots anyway. I reset the CMOS and nothing. About the 4 pin. Do you mean the 12v one above the CPU? My PSU doesn't have a lead for that.

You need that connected other wise the system wont boot, what PSU are you using.

Edit: the Corsair PSU will have the 8 pin which should break in half.
