had a big shop yesterday for new kit as ive only had a thin sports jacket for last few years after flogging most of my older kit.

went to george whites at bolton and was pretty impressed was like a kid in a sweet shop. so many bargains. girlfriend was bored at 20 mins.

ended up with a set of puma one piece leathers for £299 down from 1400, xlite 802 lid for 180 down from 499. and then got some textiles from hein hericke and some gloves with £140 off.

be nice to have a dry warm ride to work tonight for a change rather than thin jacket and draggin jeans.

Aww i got excited when you said Hein Gericke sales, been eyeing up a pair of gloves for a while but theyre not on sale :(. Good job getting some gear though :)

it did get a but cold and wet at times but kind of got used to it. wasnt to bad last few years on my old hayabusa as had heated grips and decent fairing. my current work bike is a dominator so no fairing but nice hand guards.

really nice to have some decent kit again although i think that jacket may have been better in a slitghtly bigger size.

My dad rides with jeans on - no idea how he does it! Speaking of which, did you see that show many moons ago (might have been Brainiac) where they tested which were better for falling off in? Jeans didn't come last, but they still made a mess.

When I was 17 and someone pulled out on me at 40-50mph. I was wearing a pair of Levi's, a jacket, helmet and gloves. Oh and trainers.

I landed on my knee and the jeans didn't tear, they just sort of scuffed a little bit and I was completely fine.

I do think at 70mph plus it wold have been a different story though.

These days, particularly in winter, I will wear the full kit. No point adding to the risk of being hurt.

was pretty impressed with most of the prices there apart from the textile stuff which was a little dissapointing. seemed to only have frank thomas stuff and some rukka which i couldnt get right size.
