Blasted thermal paste

Hi guys need a quick answer on this. I was changing my cpu cooler for a corsair H80 when i lifted my old one out some of the old paste fell onto the cpu in trying to remove it some went down the side of the cpu and got under it, i have remover the cpu and the paste is around some of the pins in the socket, and it is being a pig to get out. So question is paste non conductive so could be left if top of pins are clean or what the hell gets rid of it.. Thanks George..

It was the paste that was came with the zalman cooler at the time.. Whatever that was...

Thats it i got it from OCUK along with an overclocked rig. The OCUK product description says nothing about the paste..

It looks like about 6 to 10 pins on the opposite corner from the cpu direction arrow...

Well it looks like i have to order a new motherboard several of the pins have indeed been bent and a couple of them are loose. Thanks for your help mate...
