Hi my daughter is using blender fro 3d modeling I don't no wot this is lol .but when she uses it she says that it lags she told me her model uses 2 million polys.

Spec asus 390 motherboard
Cpu intel 6700 skylake not o/c
16 gig of corsair ram
3 hard drives .
Zotac 2080ti
Wot spec is good for this would more ram help?

It depends precisely what she’s doing as some functions of Blender use CPU and some GPU. A 2080ti is still a pretty good GPU so I’d probably go for CPU and RAM first.

Quad core is minimum spec and likely the issue. The viewport/editor will be CPU bound.

She could turn down subdivisions on objects she is not editing/using to reduce the poly count, or hide them altogether until she needs them again. You may also be able to set the viewport subdivisions lower than the renderer uses Rendering will likely be GPU so won't suffer the same with poly count.

Also settings like optix renderer settings help on the rtx cards.

Where is the lag? Is it when editing the wireframes or in the render viewport( which will always lag, even on the best of machines)
