I had Venetian blinds fitted last week. During the fitting they told me they had had to remove the curtain rail in the bedroom. On completion of the work I asked them to replace the curtain rail as it is needed for blackout curtains. My daughter cannot sleep properly without them.
They were unable to replace the rails they could not figure out how to do it. I asked if I were to buy a basic plastic rail would they fit that. They agreed. I bought the rail and it was due to be fitted tomorrow, a week later.
I had a call today saying that one of the fitters had a family emergency so they would not be able to fit tomorrow. Then the other fitter is going on holiday, so it will be another 2 weeks we will be without a curtain rail.
Am I within my rights to pay someone else to fir this rail and send the blind fitters the bill?
