So recently ordered some blinds, Sadly I read Face Fixing Brackets incorrectly and these are actually in a position that they need to be attached to the window which is uPVC.

Not sure how I feel about this, Wondering anyone else had experience or done this? Feel it might ruin the window in the future if there was ever a need to remove them.

Also not entirely sure if the windows we have are reinforced or not.

I am tempted to try and find a local store to buy some top fixing brackets and do that instead, But after searching can't see them anywhere on b&q or screwfix oddly.

I face fixed my vertical blinds to plastic window frame - used short self tappers - drilled pilot hole first - You will get top fixing brackets from a blind company like blinds4u or blinds247 - If you take brackets off frame you can just plug hole with mastic.:)

Once you put a hole in PVC it'll be there forever, so be 100% sure before doing it. Probably better off getting different brackets if you're not sure. You could fill the screwholes if you ever did want to remove the blinds, but it wouldn't be an invisible fix like it would with a wooden window.

To fix a blind you will only need to screw into the first skin of pvc, so reinforcing shouldn't be an issue. Some small 15-20mm self tapping screws would be ideal, or you could use wood screws and drill pilot holes first.

Best thing you can do is stick your brackets on with evo stik sticks like **** (poop)
That way if you no longer want a blind up or want to change your blind to a different one you have no nasty holes in your upvc window. That's how I've always fixed blinds up to upvc windows, as strong as screwing it up.

Stick your brackets in to place with the help of some masking tape then the following day your blind/brackets will be perfect to clip in to.

Thanks for the info, I gave the company a call and they have been happy to send out some other brackets for me which is great.

Just didn't feel right screwing into the uPVC to be honest, And like said above it never looks the same once done even if you can fill it in.
