Ok so I got a quote from Hilary's to get some nice blinds to put up in my flat... their figure = £280+ :eek: Negotiable apparently, but I doubt they'll drop the price too much.

One thing that did catch my ear though is that they price match anyone else that's cheaper. So I started hunting around on the internet for made to measure blinds, but I can't find anyone that offers fitting as part of the cost like Hilary's do.

So does anyone know any blinds companies that do this? Then I could use them to pwn Hilary's price down a bit :D

I think they match anywhere as long as you have a quote number they can check up on... but most web places offer the blinds only and no fitting. So obviously they wouldn't match a quote that is missing a large chunk of what you are paying for with Hilary's!

TBH that figure sounds about right to get some custom made blinds, and with fitting on top it actually sounds cheap!

Made to order blinds and curtains aren't cheap.

There is also usually a reason that places price match, that reason being that they usually restrict places where they price match from meaning that they are pretty sure what competition is within their restrictions and are fairly sure that no one can beat them

Sounds dead cheap. Hilary's gave me a quote recently and it was close to £600. This was £125 cheaper than both local blind companies we tried which both gave similar quotes of around £720. Went with the more expensive in the end (which we negotiated down using the Hilary's quote) as Hilary's material quality was nothing in comparison to what we saw locally, and the choice was very limted too i.e. very plain, boaring materials and only a tenth of what the local blind companies had to offer.
 
lol Rudeboy, how many Windows was your quote for though? Mine is for 2 small-ish windows and a large patio.

I think for my quote the sale prices are applied, so the patio vertical blinds have 50% off, and the venetians on the windows are 30% off (I think). The nice guy who came to do the measuring and stuff also knocked another 10% off, so I guess I've got a good deal... maybe I'm just being a tight-arse :p
