Hi
I have a Blink system with 3 cameras and a doorbell. my free trial has ended but that is ok as i have the sync module and usb stick.

I am looking at the settings now however and whilst all my cameras have a very strong connection to my wifi (and the sync module also well connected)

one of my cameras only has an incredibly weak connection to the sync module......... is this a problem? surely given the sync module is on the wifi, and my camera is on the wifi then any data should be sent through that, and the camera itsself should not need a great direct connection to it?

our house is not a mansion but with a couple of extensions it is a bit sprawly so i do not think it is going to be feasible to have all cameras have a strong connection to the sync module. i assumed that is what my mesh wifi system was for.

thanks for any thoughts

Have you used it just with the sync module and no plan to save motion clips yet? I find ours incredibly crap, with the plan it'll save every single motion alert clip. No plan and the sync module then it'll save them for 12-18 hours after a power cycle of the sync module then it'll need turning off and on again to get going.

i have already noiced a couple of failed backups combined with a "stale manifest" when trying to look at the images. it is why i am looking at it now .... i have managed to get all having a strong wifi connection when previously one didnt but i cant get the connection to the module for all of them.

i would pay for the plan if it was a few quid, but imo for the multiple camera sub it is actually pretty expensive. i have not seen any good amazon day deals on the subs either. i wish i had gotten one sooner. the sub used to be free and people on that old agreement still get it free.

Ours is just the one camera with the sync module literally 1ft away on the other side of the wall and it's still incredibly ropey, almost like they want you to pay for the plan :o

Ours is absolutely fine on the sync module with usb, reliability wise, with a couple of caveats...
It's slow to navigate the saved clips
You cant bulk delete the saved clips
