hi,
recently my win7 64bit machine has started to make small very quiet squeeks from the psu when moving the mouse or highlighting an image on the Internet (firefox or opera)
i have a dual boot linux mint 10 and it does not make the sounds (firefox)
the recent changes to my pc are Asus Xonar DX and latest 11.1 catalyst drivers
(also as aside my windows will load fine but during the loading of catalyst the screen will flash black and then be fine from there onwards (also does anyone else get 3x 5800 series to choose from when right clicking the catalyst tray icon? i only have one gpu)
anyways, could it be IRQ related? since adding the sound card some games have hung the computer totally so only a hard reset works although trying again it does not. I dont feel the sound card drivers are totally stable.
perhaps i installed the card wrong? its not in a pci-e lane its in one of the small white pci slots above the gfx card and between the cpu (board is 890gx and all stock options apart from onboard audio turned off)
any ideas welcome
