OK so the game is old, but even so, I thought I'd pick it up on sale from that rainforest place for $20. I already have it on the 360, but obviously the PC is normally a better experience.. Not this time though.

Activated on Steam, but the thing runs like a bag of poo poo on both of my machines.

i5 3570k, Asus P8Z77 mobo, 5770 x-fired, SSD 6.0 gb/s, 8GB Corsair Vengence 1600, Win7 ULT 64-bit. SP & MP. it runs really bad, like micro stuttering all over the place.

On my gaming machine, i7 2600k, Asus P8Z77 mobo, ATI 7950, SSD 6.0 gb/s, 8GB Corsair Vengence 1600, Win7 ULT 64-bit, it does seem to run smoother but still not 100% smooth. Like other titles.

So what's the deal ? I know there were reported problems when the game came out, but if its not patched to fix now, then it never will be.

Am i scupppered ? Or are there any fixes to try out?

I found BLOPs to be a bit chuggy on multiple systems. Dropping AA/AF and vsync etc helped smooth it out some, but not much. I remember it being way worse on launch, and they improved a lot of it before the patches dried up.

The MW entries ran significantly better for me.

I can't live without vsync. I didn't spend a tidy fortune on a PC to sit there and look at tearing all day long.

The AA and AF will be shame to disable, which will probably be enough for me to not bother. Besides I do have COD MW3 or I could simply stick with the original COD4 MW...

PC Owners once again getting the bird ! Hey go and spend a fortune on your hardware and as a reward we'll make our games run like poo. But thanks for the money for the game you've just bought and can't return !

It used to run like butter for me (spec in sig) until the last few months where I have also noticed increased microstutter. So far I've just ignored it as I just jump in now and again but I reckon it's probably the latest drivers. Have you tried rolling back?

Well i managed to fix it by disabling my Realtek onboard HD Audio, I changed the audio from within the game to run through my AMD HD audio on my GPU. Lucky for me, i'm running via displayport and have an audio output on my LCD. So i can put some headphones in and have audio.

Still a pain though.
