Block one user from visiting a website TP-LINK

Hi all & happy new year.

Basically I want to block a website for one user on my TD-W8960N. I have the mac/ip address but can't find where to block for just one person & not the rest.


If this is even possible how would one go about doing it?

Probably not possible on a cheapo consumer router, black lists tend to apply to all users, I'm never sure that blocking stuff in a domestic situation is the right solution surely education would be better!

What about applying opendns settings for that user?

I'd imagine it would have to be set up locally on their system if you just want one site filtering for them. Haven't used it myself, but I know someone that does.

If you have physical access, you can edit the hosts file.

The best method is to do it on the end user machine and not the router.

My bad, it was K9 that they used:

Editing the host file is a good idea though if its just the one site and you have a specific URL you want to block.

Set the users MAC address a static IP, then use the URL filter(parental settings) to block access to a given URL on a specific LAN IP range (so you would set it to DENY and use the range 192.168.0.5-192.168.0.5 where that is the static IP you assigned the users MAC).
That should work.
