interesting you brought this up, my wife works at a small insurance broker, less than 15 staff and they are getting swamped with a lot of paperwork etc.

Google brought up a couple of articles about blockchain being used in the insurance sector by 2020 and how it can save hundreds in money and hours.

Not had time to look into it properly or get my head around it yet though.
 
I may be getting involved in it myself with the firm I work with - from what I read it all started with Bitcoin and now used in finance for legers and being secure and tamper proof.
