Hi All

Just moved into a new home, and have found that the driveway is growing lots of weeds and grass between the blocks.

Just wondering what is going to be the best way to get rid of all the grass/weeds? Bleach ? Pressure washer ? Spray with salt ?

Any ideas gratefully appreciated

Thanks

Mehul

Weedkiller then on your hands and knees with a knife to clean out the dead weeds once the killers done it's job.
Don't be tempted to use a power washer as this will disturb the sand under the blocks and your driveway will be uneven in no time.

+1 For weedkiller. Failing that you could try spraying the whole area with gloss white paint, sanding to a nice finish with some 1200grit and then maybe adding some cool flame decals.

Understand that this merely delays the inevitable: the weeds will be back within weeks, or at least months. I found Roundup to be of limited use, and weeds can happily grow in sand or gravel. Where possible pull them out, making sure that you get the roots, then do the above.

Weed killer, pull weeds and then maybe some ready mix cement stuff? Only suggested that because weeds will happily grow through sand and gravel.

Of course they'll grow through cement eventually, but then you can hack it out and re apply.

Burn them!

Serisouly get a flame torch (can rent one from a tool specialist) just hooks up to a cansister of normal gas eg patio gas.

YOu could try weedkiller first then resort to this for the more stuborn ones, yu really want to destroy the seeds and burning does that best :)

Plus if you have any oil stains etc this should help burn off some of the stain.
