Blocked Shower Drain

Has anyone ever used one of these to unblock a shower drain?

I havent used one, but I have recently taken to using my wet and dry shop vac which works a treat. Now if only my wife would let me shave her head, I wouldnt have to do it at all!

any reason you would not pour Mr Mussel down the drain, like everyone else does

If you remove the hair catcher in the shower trap, then feed the wire down and turn clockwise to catch hair etc...

Not sure pouring those down the drain will work...

Mr Muscle might though.

I use a barbed plastic one (looks like a super long cable tie with barbs), got it on the rainforest for £2. Works a treat on getting the wifes steel wire reinforced hair out the plug.

in future clear the hair trap every time you clean the shower so the drains don't get clogged!

I've used one of those snakey things in the past yes, when we moved into a rented flat the bath was very slow to drain.

The amount of sludge and nastiness I got out of the plug physically made me vomit, the smell was unbelievable! I'm sure someone was pooing in the bath! That's what the sludge looked and smelled like!

It did the trick. Dragged up a big wad of gunk and long hair.
But forgot to o-ring back on when screwing the plug assembly back together. nearly flooded downstairs having a shower before I realised.
Lesson learned. Call a plumber.

Seriously don't call a plumber just clean your shower regularly and buy a plunger that would almost certainly have cleared it without any dismantling!
