Blocking a number range on Android? (and iOS)

Edit: I'm also kindly going to ask for any Apple iOS suggestions. This is on behalf of one of the posters below who has asked about iOS. Thanks :-)

Some ambulance chasers from London have ignored the fact that I'm on TPS. They dial using a number range:

0207 946 2207
0207 946 2092
0207 946 2XXX etc

I'm aware that Android can block single numbers, but is it possible to blacklist the number range where the X's are wildcards? Bit like an IP range but with phone numbers. If not possible, then are there any app recommendations that can ban number ranges? Or even better, an app that maintain a crowd-sourced set of banned numbers that updates daily/regularly? (bit like a virus definition file). I'm happy to pay for the app.

Sure, they have to earn a living somehow and have a life, but I have to have a life too and earn my start. I have this on my door :D

I've been using 'Calls Blacklist - Call Blocker' for a while. It has worked fine for me and I just checked it for an option that might work for you. Turns out it does, you can choose 'begin with' and input the beginning of the numbers you want to block. It works for messages and calls and it's free.

I've been receiving calls from the same range. I'm on iOS so I don't think there's an equivalent app so does anyone have the range of numbers so I can add them all?

Hi there. I have edited my initial post to appeal for some Apple answers as well. So hopefully someone on here will get back to you on that :-)

Wow, so it's not just me then?

Last call from these ******* was the same female automated voice prompts/questions... was very convinced the 1st time, but just string them along now and they soon hang up on me.

The range of numbers i've noted is:
0207 946 1930
0207 946 1943
0207 946 1973
0207 946 2032
0207 946 2095
0207 946 2170

Which is weird, cos i can see their automated dialler is changing their number.

Looking at the suggested android app, from one of the screenshots i see an option "Add: Begins with". That sounds handy :)

Exactly Nade :-)

Once the range of numbers is added, it looks like this on the app's main page. The ? at the end is the wild card. You need to put +44 at the start and drop the first 0 for British numbers.

Handy to know, thanks.

On a similar subject, is there any way to block texts that don't have a number, as in it just displays a word like a company name where the number would be.. ?

Can block private numbers, unknown numbers or set up a white list. But I can't see an option specifically for that in the "calls blacklist" app.
