Afternoon all, I need to block internet access to that popular auction site on a work PC. A colleague is wasting far too much time on it and not on work!
So, what is the best way? The PC is running Win XP and is on a work network. I dont want to limit access to the site to the other machines on the network, just the one machine.

Thanks.

Speak to HR and ask them to have a word would be my suggestion...
You are singling out one person from your company and yet not stopping anyone else doing the same thing which could be a can of worms in this day and age of discrimination etc...

The other PC's need to ooccasionally access the site for legitimate work, but he is listing his own stuff and managing his account.

If I just blocked the http://signin part of things, could he still browse the site but be unable to log in and trade?

Yep, points taken onboard. I was a bit miffed yesterday as he was just messing about all day on the bay. Will give a quiet word in the boss' ear and maybe that'll have the desired effect.
