My SEO company has asked me to enter the following code into the header for my blog page which is what i have done on squarespace based site:

<meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow">

They have advised the following:

"We have checked and the code appears to be displaying correctly however it is applying the code to all of the blog posts rather than just the main blog page. We have signed in and removed the code for now so that your blogs remain in the search results.

It might be worth contacting Squarespace and asking them how you can get the code to display on just the main blog page only and not the actual blog posts."

Now i contacted squarespace and they advised me to post up in the community forums as they cannot assist any further as i have done the correct thing by injecting the code into PAGE HEADER CODE INJECTION on the setting for blog page.

Any help would be awesome :)

Why would you not want to index just the main blog page. but index blog postings?

Really just depends on what options SS give you, there would need to be an option to put a specfic tag in to do this.

Impossible to tell really uinless you know all the options for SS.
