Blogging software

Well thanks for the advice, but i think i am going to dust down my copy of zend studio and put together somthing of my own as the features are simple enough to code!

Just basic news updates and links.
 
my problem with wordpress is that they all seem to look the same. The functions i actually require are extreamly basic. Although as some one said above it is re inventing the wheel. May be i will try word press, how easy is it to edit the look and feel of it?
