So did I at first, but it would appear that the Sydney Funnel Web or the Brazilian Wandering Spider are the two most deadly spiders in the world.

Do a google on the latter and cringe.

beacuase they have many legs, are hairy and they want to crawl inside any/all of your orifices (sp?).

Oh...and they are the spawn of the devil

The Black Widow is a nasty piece of work (but is most often deadly when small cildren are involved), but both the Sydney Funnel Web and Brazilian one are more deadly - and way, way, WAY scarier looking (and the former was actually aggressive - mind you, if I saw one, I wouldn't poke it with a stick, I'd run like my bum was on fire

). The Brown Recluse of North America is another particularly unpleasant little customer - they melt your flesh :eek:

I saw a documentary on the Sydney Funnel Web many moons ago, and they reckoned that there were cousins of it which lived in the forests outside Sydney which were even more deadly.......but only to centipedes
